The world today is more complex than ever. The rapid speed of change and growing interconnectedness of the global economy is pushing companies to develop innovative solutions that address the evolving needs, desires and values of its employees, customers, partners and suppliers. Not only is there an assumption today that companies provide value in terms of the products and services offered, but also a growing expectation for businesses to take a larger role in addressing some of our society's biggest challenges. Throughout Kohler's 147-year history, we have always believed that doing well as a business and doing good in the world go hand in hand. Our commitment to this philosophy starts with our people and extends through our products and operations. Kohler associates are the driving force behind our innovation. Their design and engineering expertise allow us to continue to lead across all of our businesses and their passion for preserving the planet fosters fresh ideas and new ways of doing business. While I am proud of all the actions we are taking across the globe, I am particularly inspired by Kohler's Design for Environment (DfE) program. Building on our Environmental Product Declarations (EPD) initiative, we are committed to providing full transparency as it relates to human health data through the implementation of Declare labels , which detail material composition and inform consumers about the safety of the products they use every day. These initiatives, and several others, make up an important part of Kohler's Believing in Better platform, which focuses on three core areas where we're striving to make meaningful impact for a better planet, better communities and better lives . While our journey to reduce the impact our operations have on the environment continues, we have embarked on an aggressive path towards using renewable energy to reduce our greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions and achieve our goal of net-zero emissions by 2035. But it doesn't end there. We are using DfE to account for and reduce the impact of each product's entire lifecycle, beyond just our operations. This is Positive by Design . Looking to the future, we will continue to aggressively explore new technologies and business models, and to identify ways to be a responsible company and use our resources to build a better planet , better communities and better lives .
